| The entire route of 78 Km from Namchi to Gangtok runs along River Rangeet. The natural scenery is beautiful. Rangeet River is a tributary of Teesta River, the largest river in Sikkim. The river originates in Himalayan mountains in West Sikkim district, it is a perennial River and is fed by melting snow of Himalayas. The Teeste River, the most magnificent river has its source in Lake Cholamo, situated at an elevation of 17500 ft. Serving with 23 Punjab in East Sikkim in 1968, Babaji expired on 4th Oct 1968 while escorting a mule column from Tuku La to Dongchui La. The death occurred when he slipped and fell into Nullah. The fast current carried his body for two Kms from the site of the accident. It is widely accepted that Sepoy Harbhajan Singh appeared in the dream of a colleague and requested for his Samadhi to be constructed. The unit, in keeping with belief constructed a Samadhi approximately 9 Km from present site. For the convenience of the visitors, the new Baba Mandir was constructed at the present location on 11th Nov, 1982.

Therefore devotees place bottles of water in the name of the ailing person and take it away. This blessed water has to be consumed over a period of 21 days and no member of the family is supposed to consume any Non –Vegetarian food during this period.
