The Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Temple was built by an ardent devotee of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam with the help of like minded philanthrophists and consecrated in the year 1998 at Guwahati, Assam. He has caused this temple to be built with shrines for Sri Kamakoti Ganapathi, Sri Lakshmi(Padmavathi) known as Sri Alamelumanga in the southern parts of the country, Sri Balaji andSri Durga Devi. All the shrines are built with Vimanas and Raja Gopurams as prescribed in the ancient texts for building temples.

HIS HOLINESS SRI JAYENDRA SARASWATHI SWAMIJI’S VISIT TO GUWAHATI:

At present renovation of these temples have been taken up and the Consecration Ceremony( Kumbabishekam) of this temple took place (Mithuna Lagna) on Sunday the 2nd May 2010 (Corresponding to the 19th Day of Chitra month of the year Vikruthi)under the auspicies presence of Sri Sankaracharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Maharaj. Dhanvantri Statue was consecrated and Kumbabishekam performed at Sri Sankara Dev Nethralaya on the same day.
His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Maharaj also visited the Go sala at Guwahati on 3rd May 2010 which has at present 1400 cows and Kamakhya Temple one of the Sakthi Peeth.
